On Tuesday, December 10th, 2019, SCMMA Local 222 received it’s official IFPTE charter at a wine and cheese dinner hosted for its members. Also in attendance at the event were TEAM Local 161 president and IFPTE Canadian Area VP, Misty Hughes-Newman; TEAM Local 161 Board Member Nicki Hughes; WAPSO Local 162 president, Richard Mahe; and IFPTE Organizer Dave Sauer. The out of town guests hosted their bi-annual Canadian Council of Locals meeting in Saskatoon as a welcoming gesture to the newest IFPTE affiliate
IFPTE is labor union advocating on behalf of more than 80,000 women and men in professional, technical, administrative and associated occupations in the Canada and United States. Unique within the labour movement given most of their members are professionals, along with the autonomy they covey to their local affiliates.
