On Tuesday, December 10, SCMMA-IFPTE Local 222 welcomed IFPTE International Representatives and Organizers, Bill Fitzpatrick and Erin Spencer, to Saskatoon to facilitate steward training workshop for SCMMA stewards and table officers. The focus of the day centered on best practices when filing and proceeding with grievances and what to expect when representing members at investigation meetings.
This workshop comes following the acclamation of eight stewards at our Annual General Meeting in October and the appointment of a ninth steward in November. With nine stewards, SCMMA now has a full complement. The addition of stewards to SCMMA's constitution is an indicator of our growth and marks an exciting new chapter for our union.
